Thiruvananthapuram: The procedures concerning the ban of Popular Front of India (PFI) should be in accordance with the law, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan here on Thursday. There should not be any unnecessary haste or fault in the regard. Those who were active in the organisation should be monitored continuously, directed the CM in a meeting with district collectors and police officials.
While PFI offices were sealed swiftly in several states following the ban by the union government, Kerala is yet to start action.
The order of Kerala government for acting on the ban came on Thursday morning. However, the police can take action only when the DGP's circular is out. Sources suggest that the circular will be released only after a high-level meeting at the police headquarters.
Meanwhile, two PFI workers were slapped with Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in Thiruvananthapuram for raising slogans in support of the organisation.
