Thiruvananthapuram: Two people robbed a petrol pump manager of Rs 2.5 lakh in broad daylight in the capital city. The incident took place around 3.30 pm on Thursday in front of the SBI branch in Kaniyapuram.

As per reports, the theft occurred while NIFI Fuels manager Shah was on his way to the SBI bank with the day’s collection of Rs 2.5 lakh. Two people, who came on a scooter, snatched the money bag from his hands and fled the place.

Although Shah tried to run behind the youths, he could not nab them. They wore helmets and there was no number plate on the scooter. Meanwhile, Mangalapuram police examined the CCTV footage of the area and found that the culprits are natives of Pothencode.

Following this, the Honda Dio scooter on which they fled was also recovered from Pothencode. Efforts are underway to nab the accused soon.
