School girl sustains severe injury after falling from KSRTC bus in Perumbavoor


The accident took place at 8.20 am on Friday while the girl was on her way to school. Farha had boarded the KSRTC bus from Manjapatta.

Kochi: A girl sustained severe injuries after falling off a moving KSRTC bus in Perumbavoor. Farha Fathima, plus one student of SN Higher Secondary School at Okkal met with the accident on Friday.

The accident took place at 8.20 am on Friday when the girl was on her way to school. Farha boarded the KSRTC bus from Manjapatta.

Soon after the incident, she was given treatment and was shifted to a private hospital in Kochi. The victim’s family alleged that the driver’s negligence had caused the accident.

The police have begun an investigation into the incident. Reportedly, the girl was standing on the footboard of the bus which was crowded. As the door was not locked properly, the girl fell on the road when the bus moved forward.

“There are not enough bus services on Perumbavoor-Aluva road during school hours,” complained the girl's family.
