Perumbavoor police station put on alert as 2 in custody came in contact with COVID patient
Perumbavoor: The police station here has been placed under alert after two accused in custody revealed that they had contact with a COVID-19 patient. Following the arrest, the accused confessed that they were absconding with a COVID-19 patient for a month.
Considering their statement, the police station was immediately put on alert on Thursday. The two accused were arrested over the murder of Perumbavoor native Unni in Mangaluru. Police arrested them on Wednesday.
After the duo revealed about having contact with COVID-19 patient, all police officials who were on duty during the arrest were placed under quarantine. At present, no one is allowed to enter the police station.
Fire Force personnel sanitized the police station and premises. The officials reported that the COVID-19 test results of the accused are expected to receive by Thursday evening. Further action will be taken based on the test results.
