Periya double murder: Peethambaran brought for evidence collection; iron rods, machete recovered
Kahangad: The police have recovered weapons reportedly used to murder the two Youth Congress activists at Periya in Kasaragod. The accused, Peethambaran identified the weapons on Wednesday.
The weapons, including two iron rods and a machete, were recovered while collecting evidence from Kallyott, where the murder took place.
Earlier, the convicts had given statements that they had assaulted the two activists using iron rods. The machete was found in an unused well near the murder spot.
In connection with the double murder case, police had arrested Peethambaran, a CPM Periya local area committee member, on Tuesday. He had confessed to the crime.
