People coming from other states must follow quarantine protocol: CM

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated that the major difference of the second wave of Covid outbreak is the mutation of virus. He added that this shows the importance of strictly following quarantine after returning from other states. Those who violate quarantine will have to face legal action, he made it clear.

‘Break the Chain’ campaign should be intensified in the rural areas. The local bodies should take up the responsibility of this. Every local body should make sure that Covid preventive measures such avoiding crowd and wearing masks are strictly followed, the CM said.

We should remember that we have been placed on a fuming volcano. Instead of mechanically following the restrictions imposed by the government, people should actively take part in the Covid preventive measures, the CM urged.

The chief minister also requested all to refrain from spreading fake news on Covid and creating panic among the public. Reacting to the questions on oxygen shortage in the state, he said that there is no issues in the oxygen supply in the state at present.
