Thiruvananthapuram: Those close to former chief minister of Kerala, Oommen Chandy, are worried about his cancer treatment. His friends are of the opinion that considering his health, treatment should continue at the Bengaluru hospital.
Chandy was to return to the HCG Cancer Centre in Bengaluru on January 9 for follow-up treatment for his throat cancer. He had left the centre on January 1 for Kerala. But this got delayed due to several reasons. His situation had improved following the laser treatment at the Berlin charity hospital in Germany.
The treatment in Bengaluru hospital was effective too. However, those close to him are concerned that the delay could affect his health. Currently, the former chief minister is in complete rest at his residence in Jagathy.
Dr US Vishal Rao at the HCG hospital had suggested chemo, radiation treatments and a diet to regain his health.
Leaders including AK Antony had made efforts to provide scientific treatment to Chandy.
