PC Thomas-led Kerala Congress mulls joining UDF after NDA fails to keep promises
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Congress led by PC Thomas is looking at the possibility to join UDF as the party members are dissatisfied with NDA for not keeping their promise. PC Thomas told mathrubhumi.com that NDA has not given them even the board, corporation positions which were promised to them.
Ramesh Chennithala had stated during the UDF committee meeting that he would hold a discussion with Kerala Congress (Thomas). PC Thomas said that they have not sent any official letters in regard to joining UDF.
He said that NDA national leadership has not kept their promises including that of positions on rubber board. The party is dissatisfied with those matters getting delayed. They have informed the state and national leadership of this dissatisfaction.
BJP had offered a chairman position and 5 board positions. Kerala Congress (Thomas) had been waiting to secure these 6 positions for the past 2 years.
The decision to join UDF will be taken after holding a party secretariat meeting. The general opinion is that the party should join UDF as an ally. The decision regarding all these maters will be taken at the meeting which will be held on Sunday, PC Thomas said.
