PC George to join UDF to strengthen alliance ahead of Assembly polls
Kottayam: PC George MLA has stated that he will be joining UDF in order to strengthen the alliance. Janapaksham Secular has formed a 5 member committee to hold talks with the UDF leadership in this regard. UDF is convinced that it needs the service of Janapaksam to defeat LDF.
PC George also said that he does not have any issues with the UDF leadership and that local disputes can be resolved through discussions.
Oommen Chandy will have to return to the top if UDF wants to win the election. PC George said that he has conveyed the same to Oommen Chandy as well.
‘I did not have any difference of opinion with Oommen Chandy in the last 4 years. Things will not be always straight in politics,” he stated.
PC George also added that all those who worked as secretaries of Indian Youth Congress, when Ramesh Chennithala was the president, have become ministers or Chief Ministers of different states. Chennithala has not held any ministerial position other than Home Minister for certain years. As an Opposition leader, he is very strong inside the Assembly. However, all kinds of resources should be utilized while facing an election. This is why Oommen Chandy has to return to the top. That is not because Ramesh Chennithala is weak.
The Poonjar MLA further stated that UDF leadership will give his party what they deserve if they join the alliance.
When asked about his son’s possible candidature in the Assembly election, he said that Shaun George was very much eligible to contest the election. Unlike the children of other political leaders, Shaun has come through student politics during his college days. He has learned everything in politics, PC George added.
