Thiruvananthapuram: The museum police here on Tuesday registered a fresh case against senior politician PC George for insulting a woman journalist. The Kerala Janapaksham (Secular) leader was booked under Section 509 of IPC (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) over a complaint filed by the woman scribe.
In the complaint, the woman journalist alleged that PC George misbehaved with her when she questioned his move to reveal the name of the woman who filed a sexual assault case against him.
If George is found guilty in the case, he is likely to get an imprisonment for up to 3 years.
PC George courted controversy by insulting the woman journalist of Kairali TV while addressing the media on July 2 after police booked him in a sexual assault case.
After obtaining bail in the sexual assault case, George expressed regret over the incident and apologised to the woman journalist.
