Patient with suspected Coronavirus flees from hospital, police take him to isolation camp
Kozhikode: An expatriate who was suffering from fever was nabbed by the police and natives after he managed to flee from the Govt Medical College here by evading the quarantine rules. Following this, police took him to the isolation camp in Nilambur.
The man is a native of Manakkadavu in Kozhikode. He arrived home from Abu Dhabi this Sunday.
On Tuesday, he visited his wife’s house at Kalikavu. He was admitted to the Kozhikode medical college after suffering from fever. But without informing the hospital authority, he left the hospital on Tuesday night. His brother dropped him off at his wife’s house.
As he was showing coronavirus like symptoms, natives raised concern over his return from hospital. After getting information about the man, Kalikavu special branch SI V Sasidharan and team arrived at the spot.
On Wednesday, the health department initiated action to shift him to the isolation camp in Nilambur.
Meanwhile, the officials reported that he tested negative for coronavirus in the test conducted at the medical college.
Police registered a case against him for fleeing from the hospital.
