Patient dies after ambulance collides with lorry near Thalassery
Thalassery: A patient died after an ambulance collided with a lorry here on Tuesday morning. The deceased was identified as East Vellayi native Yashoda.
The mishap took place when Yashoda, a kidney patient, was being taken to Kozhikode medical college from Kannur AKG Hospital. The accident occurred before the vehicle reached Thalassery town.
The front portion of the ambulance was totally damaged after the collision with lorry. But Yashoda did not sustain any external injuries. It is being examined if she died of heart attack.
Four persons including the ambulance driver were injured in the accident. The road was waterlogged due to rain. It is assumed that the vehicle lost control when brake was applied.
