Kochi: The probe into the Elanthoor human sacrifice case has been uncovering shocking details. In a major development, the probe team raised a suspicion that Muhammad Shafi and Laila, the key accused in the case conspired to murder Bhagaval Singh, another accused in the case. It is hinted that the duo had hatched a conspiracy to murder Bhagaval Singh for possessing his property. But so far, the police didn’t recover any evidence to prove this suspicion.
It is learnt that police have been investigating these allegations too.
According to reports, Shafi, the prime accused in the case is not cooperating with the interrogation. Police reported that he must be taken for a detailed interrogation for clarifying more matters related to the case.
Meanwhile, police have intensified the investigation into the women missing complaints in Kochi and Pathanamthitta. As per the available data, a total of 12 women went missing from Pathanamthitta district during the 2017-22 period. Out of this, three cases were registered in Aranmula police station limit which includes Elanthoor region. A total of 13 women went missing from Kochi in the last 5 years.
