Cheruthuruthi: A passenger suffered injuries to his face after an unknown assailant attacked him on board a train at Shornur railway station on Sunday.
Devan, a Parappanangadi native, was attacked while travelling in the general compartment of the Maru Sagar Express.
The incident happened around 10:50 pm when the train arrived at the Shornur railway station. Onlookers said the assailant attacked Devan on the side of his face using a sharp object. The passengers panicked and the assailant entered another train.
Later, Devan was shifted to the hospital by the locals and the police. He told the police that he had not seen the assailant before.
