Thiruvananthapuram: Setting aside the criticism against him over his remarks comparing Bhagat Singh's martyrdom with that of Variyan Kunnath Kunjahammed Haji, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly MB Rajesh has said he has no time to pay attention to unnecessary and irrational statements over this.

In a post on his Facebook page, MB Rajesh mocked those who criticised him by stating that, “The sudden love and respect some people have for Bhagat Singh is surprising.” He also asked when onwards these people started respecting Bhagat Singh.

Mentioning the speeches made by these people against Bhagat Singh and the Jallianwala Bagh martyrs in Parliament, MB Rajesh said that he is not bothered about the allegations raised by the ‘Savarkar Fans Association’. He also said that real disrespect towards Bhagat Singh was shown by honouring Savarkar in the parliament.

Savarkar had ruthlessly ignored Bhagat Singh, who was executed by the British, and soon apologised to them once he got power, he said.
