Thiruvananthapuram: A parent of a girl student of Government Higher Secondary School for Girls, Cotton Hill, who was allegedly subjected to ragging by seniors inside the campus, protested in front of the school demanding action. However, the school management and PTA committee has dismissed all claims of the parent. They said the protest of the parent is all part of an agenda to damage the institution’s reputation. The management added that a small matter that took place inside the school is being blown out of proportion.

The girl’s mother has filed a complaint with the police but a case has not been registered yet. The police sources said that an investigation will be carried out before taking action on the matter. They have recorded the statements of teachers and students who were on the campus on the day of the said incident.

Reportedly, several other parents have also come forward with similar complaints after this incident came to the fore. Education Minister V Sivankutty has ordered an investigation into the matter and asked for a report to be submitted within three days.
