Pantheerankavu UAPA case: NIA court dismisses Thaha’s bail plea
Kozhikode: Kochi NIA court has dismissed the bail plea submitted by Thaha, an accused in the Pantheerankavu UAPA case. NIA Officials have asked the court to not grant bail to the accused.
Thaha Fazal is named as the second accused in the case. Meanwhile, Alan who is the key accused in the case did not submit the bail plea.
During the trial, NIA asked court to dismiss the bail plea after claiming to have crucial evidence against the accused.
NIA submitted books, pamphlets and CDs of slogans seized from the accused before the court. Examining these evidences, the court rejected the bail plea moved by Thaha.
Meanwhile, NIA received crucial information on Malappuram native Usman, another accused in the case. It is learned that NIA will move petition seeking the custody of Alan and Thaha to know more details on Usman.
Earlier, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had forwarded a letter to union home minister Amit Shah urging him to direct the NIA to handover the probe to Kerala police. But the centre asserted that NIA must probe the case.
