Thidanadu (Kottayam): In an intriguing incident, a Kottayam farmer submitted a request before the panchayat committee seeking to conduct a study trip to Israel to teach agriculture to farmers.

The request was filed before the panchayat committee by Thidanadu block committee Karshaka Congress president Roy Kurian. However, the request, which was put for discussion at the committee, got rejected.

As per the request, the demand was to arrange a study trip to Israel for around 100 young farmers of the panchayat by cutting short the schemes, which have been repeatedly implemented every year.

Meanwhile, the Karshaka Congress Thidanadu Block Committee demanded the government to pass the scheme in the upcoming assembly session.
