Teacher and a student of Palode LP school
Palode (Thiruvananthapuram): 'Palode Vani' has become famous in Thiruvananthapuram as a hub of children, teachers and parents during Covid times. The children are not disappointed due to the lockdown as they are studying along with having entertainments here. This unique initiative is from the Perakkuzhi Government LP School of Palode.
They are exploring diverse ways of making education fun for the students through the radio channel ‘Palode Vani’ and the YouTube channel ‘Palode Kids’. The students and teachers uploaded 150 episodes within 102 days from June 1 to September 10 this year in their YouTube channel.
The parents send the videos of academic and extracurricular activities of the children to teachers which they edit and upload in the channel. The lower primary students act as script writers, camerapersons, directors and crew of the programmes. The radio is regularly broadcast on every Sunday at 2.30 pm.
While identifying the passion of children, many parents also could polish their hidden talents. Thus they broadcast a special programme of mothers on Woman’s day in the school radio. All the programmes are coordinated by headmaster K Swaminathan, SMC Chairman V L Rajiv, teachers and parents.
