Thiruvananthapuram: Vigilance has summoned former minister VK Ebrahimkunju for further interrogation in the Palarivattom flyover scam. He was asked to appear at vigilance office here on Saturday.
Earlier, on February 15, vigilance interrogated him for three hours. But it is learned that the officials are not satisfied with his statements and decided to interrogate him again.
Ebrahimkunju told vigilance that he only exercised his duties as a minister in the flyover construction. But following the interrogation, vigilance examined the ex-minister’s statements and grilled PWD officials. The officials found some discrepancies in the statement between the Ebrahimkunju and the PWD officials. In view of this, vigilance decided to summon him again.
A probe was initiated against Ebrahimkunju for giving an advance of Rs 8.25 crore to RDS construction company for Palarivattom flyover construction. RDS company MD Sumit Goyal and former PWD secretary TO Sooraj have given statement against the ex-minister. After reviewing these statements, the vigilance summoned Ebrahimkunju for further interrogation.
