Palarivattom flyover case: Final hearing in Supreme Court on Tuesday
New Delhi: The Supreme Court will consider Kerala’s plea seeking reconstruction of Palarivattom flyover today. In the plea before SC, the state government requested the apex court to intervene immediately in the issue considering the plight of the public.
Meanwhile, RDS project, the company which built the flyover, will request the court to issue an order for conducting load test on the flyover before reconstructing it.
In the rejoinder affidavit filed before the Supreme Court, Kerala alleged that the company which constructed the flyover and KITCO, the consultancy of the project, have been trying to prevent investigation in the flyover case.
Earlier, the Kerala High Court had issued an order directing to conduct a load test before demolishing the flyover. The government has moved an appeal before the SC against this order. The Supreme Court will consider this appeal today.
During the final hearing, the Kerala government will point out the delay in the flyover construction due to the court procedures.
Traffic block will increase in Palarivattom with the commissioning of bridges in Kundannur and Vyttila on National Highway. It will badly affect the public life, Kerala will clarify in the court today.
Attorney General KK Venugopal appeared for the state government in the Supreme Court during the last hearing.
In the affidavit submitted before the apex court, KITCO stated that the government is trying to make gains unfairly.
