Palakkad: Police on Friday arrested three more RSS workers in the Elapully SDPI worker Subair murder.
Palakkad district RSS coordinator Kottekkad Anappara native S Suchithran (32), district ‘karyadarsi’ Elapully native G Girish (41), ‘mandal karyavahak’ Janeesh (24) were arrested for conspiracy and harbouring offenders. All three were brought to Kanjikode for inquest.
Subair was murdered on April 15 while travelling home with his father from mosque. Police found that the SDPI leader was murdered in retaliation to the murder of Sanjith, an RSS worker in November 2021.
All three RSS workers arrested on Friday were close to Sanjith. As many as nine people are in custody so far in the case. The inquiry is in the final stage, officers said. DySP S Shamsudheen, Inspectors NS Rajeev, M Sasidharan, AC Vipin, A Deepakumar, Sub Inspector S Aneesh are part of the investigation team.
