Palakkad road accident: KSRTC driver arrested


Palakkad: A KSRTC driver was arrested for the accident that claimed the lives of two at Kuzhalmannam here. CL Ouseph, the driver at the Vadakancherry operating centre, was arrested over the incident.

Earlier, KSRTC had announced an inquiry into the accident after the video of the accident was shared on social media. The investigation found lapses on the part of the driver. It was clear from the footage that the accident occurred seconds after the driver unexpectedly took a turn to the right.

The youth was killed on February 7 after their bike rammed into the KSRTC bus plying from Palakkad to Ernakulam. On Thursday, KSRTC suspended the driver for reckless driving over the accident. Following this, the police arrested him.

The footage of the accident was captured on the dash camera of a car in the nearby vicinity.

Adarsh ​​Mohan, hailing from Palakkad, and Sabith from Kasaragod were killed in the accident.
