Palakkad cooperative bank robbery: Police arrests accused from Maharashtra
Palakkad: Kerala police arrested a man hailing from Satara of Maharashtra in connection with the robbery at Chandranagar Co-operative Society Bank in Palakkad district.
According to the police, the accused identified as Nikhil Ashok Joshi carried out the operation on his own. In total, 7.5 kg gold and Rs 18,000 were found missing at Marutha Road Cooperative Rural Credit Society on July 26.
The accused is a history-sheeter who targets cooperative societies and financial institutions. He stayed in Palakkad for a month to plan the robbery. He sold the gold to various persons at Satara, police said.
The investigation team went to Maharashtra to arrest Nikhil Ashok Joshi following the leads they recieved.
