Pala proves public acceptance of Pinarayi govt; Kerala BJP is powerless: Vellappally
Alappuzha: With the historic win of CPM in Pala bypoll, it is proved that the Pinarayi government has been widely accepted by the public, opined SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellappaly Natesan. Many had claimed that Pala bypoll would be an evaluation of the state government. If they are accepting the CPM victory, they should repeat it as a victory of Pinarayi Vijayan, he added.
Mani C Kappan’s victory in Pala is not just because of Vellappally’s or SNDP’s stance. Even the Pala bishop supported Kappan as he had no interest in Kerala Congress. Even the members of Kerala Congress (M) spoke of Jose K Mani’s inabilities. They all had opined Kappan’s victory. Pala had always had the attitude to keep away cheap players and trouble makers, Vellappally told reporters here.
Responding on NDA’s performance in Pala bypoll, Vellappally said that it has to be inspected whether BJP obtained their own votes.
“The Pala bypoll trend may reflect in the upcoming bypolls too. The LDF, that was believed to be torn out, has been reborn. But Congress faced setback. They shouldn’t think that public are donkeys”.
If BDJS is not contesting in Aroor, BJP might. I have no difference of opinion on national level BJP. But in Kerala, they are powerless and unable. The leadership is incapable of leading the organisation. There is no unity. In Pala, action was taken against their leader for cross-voting. But the blame was put on BDJS. BJP is blaming and attacking those who stands by them, SNDP leader said.
“In Aroor, we would look into who would perform better. Shanimol’s statement that community leaders do not decide on candidate is true. However, I came to know from many people that Shanimol’s candidature was decided by Kanthapuram”.
There wouldn’t be any sympathy votes for Shanimol. It remains to be seen how much help this sympathy would gain. I will speak of my opinions later, when a clearer picture develops, he added.
I stand firmly by my statement that Adoor Prakash is a person who destroys one’s own tribe. I know how he became a candidate and a minister. Prakash who said that the seat shouldn’t be given to Ezhavas shows his double standards, Vellappally alleged adding that in Konni, the candidate could be the one nominated by Sukumaran Nair.
