New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India on Monday dismissed a petition against the permission granted to amend the election case related to the Pala assembly constituency. The bench, led by chief justice DY Chandrachud, rejected the plea filed by MLA Mani C Kappan and clarified that it cannot interfere with the earlier order of the Kerala High Court.

Kappan had earlier challenged the High Court's decision to allow CV John to amend his election petition. Kappan had approached the Supreme Court in opposition to this decision. However, the bench upheld the High Court's decision, allowing the trial of the election case to continue in the High Court.
