Pala bypoll campaigns end; parties fight it out on Sabarimala, KIIFB, Palarivattom flyover
Pala: Curtains were drawn for the open campaigning in Pala by-election on Friday. The parties fought it out on the battleground issues like Sabarimala women entry, KIIFB controversy and Palarivattom flyover scam.
On the last day of open campaigning, senior leaders like Pinarayi Vijayan, Oommen Chandy, BJP state leaders arrived at Pala. As Saturday marks Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi, it was decided to end the campaign on Friday.
UDF ended their campaign at Pala Kurisupally Junction.
The voting will be held on September 23, Monday and votes will be counted on Friday, September 27.
In an interesting scenario, all the three Fronts are claiming victory chances here. UDF is trying to get votes in the name of deceased Kerla Congress (M) leader K M Mani. LDF has set its hopes on its candidate Mani C Kappan, who is a familiar phase in the constituency. Meanwhile, NDA is also hopeful after its performance in the last parliamentary election.
