Thiruvananthapuram: The BJP national leadership has directed the Kerala unit to stop taking up the Narcotic Jihad row started by Pala Bishop, like they did in Sabarimala issue.

The leaders are of the opinion that the party should only support them so that it won’t be interpreted as an agenda of BJP. They have also strictly directed the state leadership that only party core team members should react on the matter and all should avoid being overenthusiastic.

The Sangh Parivar took up the Sabarimala issue thinking it would benefit BJP politically. However, when Pala Bishop started a fresh controversy on Narcotic Jihad influenced by the Love Jihad issue introduced by the Sangh Parivar outfits, the BJP is not going to take up the matter.

The BJP leadership assumed that if the party actively defended the remark, it will be misinterpreted that BJP is behind the allegations. So, the party will only support the Christian leaders. BJP demanded legislation to resolve Jihad issue in order to get support from Christian community.
