Narcotic jihad remark: Meeting of Muslim outfits to be held on Wednesday

Kozhikode: A meeting of Muslim outfits will be convened on Wednesday to discuss the controversies that followed the Narcotic jihad remark by Pala Bishop.

Nine Muslim organisations including AP, E K Samasta, KNM, Jamaat-e-Islami and MES will attend the meeting to be held in Kozhikode at 3 pm. Panakkad Sadiq Ali Thangal will chair the meeting.

Earlier, ministers including V N Vasavan and political leaders like Jose K Mani had visited Pala Bishop who made the controversial remark.

The Muslim outfits had come up against this. Panakkad Munavvarali Shihab Thangal, Cardinal Mar Baselios Cleemis Bava and Palayam Imam Dr Hussain Madavoor had attended a meeting organised in Thiruvananthapuram following this.

Meanwhile, Kanathapuram faction opined that narcotic jihad remark should be withdrawn instead of holding mediatory talks.
