AV Gopinath, Padmaja Venugopal
Kochi: Senior Congress leader Padmaja Venugopal has called for bringing back AV Gopinath back to party. She also opined that the party faced setback after keeping such senior leaders away. She was speaking to Mathrubhumi News.
“I know him for a long period. He was among the most trusted persons of Karunakaran. I have been seeing him being tortured several times. I thought of saying this in many instances. At least now, I should say this otherwise it will be a big injustice to my father,” said Padmaja.
She also said that her words are not against party leadership. “I have disclosed what I felt. He still has enough time to come back to the party. If I get an opportunity to bring him back, I will do it.”
Earlier, she demanded to bring back Gopinath back to party through a Facebook post. She also criticised that the new KPCC office-bearers list lacks enough women participation.
