P Sreeramakrishnan is not eligible to continue in Speaker's post: Mullappally
Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran said that Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan should not continue in his post as he was interrogated by the Customs in connection with dollar smuggling case. He also demanded that Speaker should resign from the post as early as possible.
The government sources tried to hide the fact that the Speaker was interrogated by the Customs. The state has not forgotten how minister K T Jaleel appeared before the probe agencies secretly. A serious allegation is raised against a Speaker for the first time, Mullappally added.
Many high level leaders of CPM are involved in gold smuggling and dollar smuggling. CPM and BJP were trying to conceal this until the election is over. The probe is not progressing properly though the accused gave statement against the chief minister, he further said.
The CPM is protecting minister Jaleel even after the Lokayukta found him guilty in nepotism case. Their party has become an organisation that support unethical practices. The stand they took in the cases of Jaleel and Speaker are proof for this, Mullappally stated.
