P M Suresh Babu says will join NCP if invited
Kozhikode: Former KPCC general secretary and former councilor of Kozhikode corporation P M Suresh Babu, who quit Congress, said that he would like to join the Left politics and there are no hurdles to it. If NCP invites then he would join the party and a final decision will be taken after holding talks.
Suresh Babu said he had not given any hint on joining the NCP. Even the NCP leadership have not extended an invitation to him but would welcome it, he said.
Suresh Babu said he had talks with P C Chacko but it was not political. He would contemplate for an alliance if NCP invites and is willing to join.
Leaving the Congress is due to humiliation I faced from the party during the last 2 years, he added. The derailed Congress cannot be put on track by one person like me. Hence continuing in the party is not worthwhile, he said.
Suresh Babu was the state president of KSU when the Congress split in 1978 and joined the Congress S as the Kozhikode district president and was also the LDF convenor. He returned to the Congress in 1995 and contested the Assembly elections twice in Vadakara and in the Parliament election in 2016 from Kozhikode North.
