Family feeds Rottweiler abandoned on roadside; Owner happy to get it back

Kalavoor: After days of search, Changanassery native Muthuswamy was elated to find his pet Rottweiler which he abandoned at Kalavoor bus depot.

While heading off to Bengaluru, Muthuswamy had taken his dog along with his family. Amid the trip, they pulled over for tea and snacks at Kaloor. At the time, the Rottweiler turned violent on seeing a few stray dogs and attacked Muthuswamy’s wife and son. Muthuswamy immediately tied the dog at the depot, sought medical help at a hospital and left for Bengaluru.

“On coming back, I learnt from the newspaper that my dog was still at Kalavoor,” said Muthuswamy. Earlier, ‘Mathrubhumi’ had published the news of the Rottweiler found abandoned at the depot.

Muthuswamy, who came in search of his dog, was asked to produce necessary documents by the police. On Saturday, he brought the documents and the dog was handed over to him. Muthuswamy also offered a reward to the family that took care of his dog all these days. The procedures were carried out in the presence of K R Biju, Mannanchery principal sub inspector.
