Over speeding, tax evasion; MVD to take action against more than 100 vehicles
Kochi: The Motor Vehicles Department has found that despite registering vehicles under fake address to evade tax, many of the vehicles registered in Puducherry continuously violate rules in Kerala. The department plans to take action against the luxury vehicles that breaks traffic rules here.
The Motor Vehicles Department has found out that more than 100 vehicles have violated rules multiple times on roads. Stringent action will be taken against the luxury vehicles that break the law. It has been revealed that Kozhikode native K. G. Alexander’s S-Class Benz has violated the traffic rules 72 times. The vehicle was running at a speed of 126 km per hour, when it was caught in the CCTV in Chalakudy. The owner will have to pay a fine of Rs 36,000 in total.
The department also informed that despite imposing penalty, the license of those who do not give an explanation to the show cause notice will be cancelled. The visuals of passengers engaging in adventurous activities opening the sunroof of the vehicles was also recorded in the CCTV.
