Indians waiting at airport for evacuation
Dubai: More than 500 expats will be returning to Kerala from three Gulf countries on Saturday. Flights from Kuwait, Doha and Muscat will reach Kochi on Saturday night.
The flight from Kuwait carrying 177 passengers has departed for Kochi. Meanwhile, people including pregnant women, who were not included in the priority list, protested in front of the Air India office at the airport.
Rapid test kits were not available at Kuwait airport. Hence the passengers were allowed to board the flight after ensuring that they do not have fever using thermal scans.
The flight from Muscat in Oman will carry 181 passengers. There was only thermal scanning at the Muscat airport also. The Indian Embassy had deployed health workers at the airport.
The flight from Doha, Qatar will take off at 7.05 pm local time. More than 60 percent of the 183 passengers from Doha are women. There will also be nine babies in the flight.
In all, 541 expats will reach Kerala within a gap of a few hours.
