Over 4000 people from Left parties joined BJP: Sreedharan Pillai
Thiruvananthapuram: State BJP chief PS Sreedharan Pillai has informed that over 4000 activists, including former committee members of Left front parties, have joined BJP. He made the announcement while addressing a press meet here on Thursday.
“Over 10,000 people from minority groups and dalit communities also took membership in BJP. A detailed list of the new members will be published in November. We are planning to forward the list to communist leaders,” said Sreedharan Pillai.
At the same time, the BJP central leadership has asked the state chief to elevate the new members with duties and posts as per their eligibility.
“Presently, people who completed one year as party member are elevated with positions and duties. But this rule will be relaxed to follow the central leadership's order to elevate the new members," said the state chief.
With the new members, BJP membership in state has crossed 26 lakh. Over 7 lakh people took membership in the party over phone calls.
