Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Congress Jose K Mani faction is out of the UDF. The UDF convention to be held on September 3 will take a final decision on this. Prior to this, opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala met Hyderali Shihab Thangal and held talks at Panakkad.

There are reports that League too does not object in ousting Jose K Mani faction from the front. The other allied partners of the front, like the RSP, also voice the same opinion. The allied partners are of the opinion that differences within the front must be avoided due to the upcoming local body polls.

If the Jose K Mani faction wants to get back to the front then they have to make reconciliatory moves and if they fail to do this, the September 3 meet will arrive at a final decision to throw them out of the UDF Front.

The statement made by CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan that parties which exit the UDF will be considered into LDF only on the basis of their political stand is being viewed seriously by the UDF. The UDF feels that the statement made by Kodiyeri looks like a favourable approach to the Jose K Mani faction. Hence the UDF feels that the faction must be ousted from the UDF front as early as possible.
