Thiruvananthapuram: CPM veteran V S Achuthanandan came down heavily on the student stabbing incident at the University College.
In a Facebook post he said that if any student organization is upholding weapons instead of ideas, there is some mistake in its foundation. And if it is not resolved immediately, those won’t have long life.
Violence is not the tool of modern student organizations. Those who fight for equality, social justice and freedom should make ideas and not weapons as their tools. If this realization is lost in between, it is high time student community came forward to change it. The fact that, those who are arrested and wanted by the police (in the student stabbing case at University College) have led the student organisation this long, is highly saddening. The situation where young leaders have to admit to embarrassment and discomposure is highly humiliating to the student organizations, he further said in the Facebook post.
