Ordinance removing Kerala from NH development priority list cancelled: Gadkari
New Delhi: Union minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, on Thursday said that the ordinance which removed Kerala from the priority list for National Highway (NH) development has been cancelled.
Development works of NHs in Kerala will continue as before and there is no partiality against Kerala, said Gadkari. He also added that cancellation of the ordinance was based on the request by union minister Alphons Kannanthanam.
Earlier, many including chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan had alleged that the centre was negligent towards Kerala’s NH widening works. Pinarayi Vijayan had also alleged that the removal of Kerala from the table was based on a letter sent by BJP state president Sreedharan Pillai to the centre.
