Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Minister for Health, Veena George, accused the Opposition leader of personally insulting her on account of the fire outbreak at Brahmapuram waste plant.

Opposition leader VD Satheesan had said that Veena George issued a directive for the residents to wear a mask only on the 10th day of the fire outbreak, when toxic fumes have already filled the air. Veena George lashed out at Satheesan claiming the latter’s statements were lies.

“I challenge him. I attended a meeting held in Kochi on March 5 in which MLA TJ Vinod and Uma Thomas also participated. But the Opposition leader was not there”, said Veena George. Wearing N95 masks was the instruction from health experts, she added.
