Opposition alleges corruption in Transgrid project, stages protest in Assembly
Thiruvananthapuram: The opposition descended into the well of the house and staged a protest after arguments with ruling party members during question hour in the Assembly here on Tuesday.
The opposition alleged corruption in the Transgrid project during question hour and this led to protest. The question regarding corruption in the Transgrid project was raised by V.D. Satheesan MLA. In response, Minister for Electricity, M.M. Mani said that such allegations can only hamper the state’s development.
However, opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala claimed that the Transgrid project was the most strategic corruption ever done in the history of Kerala. This led to arguments between the ruling and opposition party members.
Following this, the opposition came down to the well of the Assembly and protested. They also raised slogans against the government.
