Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader VD Satheesan raised a sharp criticism against criminal lawyer and former Congress leader Adv CK Sreedharan who recently joined CPM. He alleged that Sreedharan betrayed the families of slain Youth Congress activists Sarath Lal and Kripesh in Periya.

“ He committed a grave mistake and injustice which is unforgivable. Sreedharan had promised to appear for the families of the victims in Periya twin murder case. But he appeared for the accused in the case. This lawyer has no professional ethics. His act was really cruel,” criticised Satheesan.

Meanwhile, Satheesan also declared a mass agitation against the LDF government over its stance on the buffer zone. He demanded to conduct manual survey of the areas which will fall under the buffer zone.

“ In 2021, union minister for forest Prakash Javedkar informed the parliament that the buffer zones are identified as per the decision of the state. Kerala is facing a crisis due to the LDF government’s move to review the decision of the Oommen Chandy government. The opposition has already demanded to conduct a manual survey instead of the satellite survey under the remote sensing agency. The satellite survey report is not sufficient to prove residential areas, farmlands and cities in the buffer zones. If the government submits the satellite survey report before the Supreme Court, Kerala will land in trouble,” he added.
