Operation Subhayathra: Kerala launches helpline to crack down on illegal recruitments, visa fraud

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has launched a helpline as part of the ‘Operation Subhayathra’ or Operation Happy Journey project to crack down on fake recruitments from Kerala to various countries. The 24-hour Helpline number and E-mail ID will assist Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs) who fell prey to fake recruitment or visa fraud gang to seek the help of the authority.

Kerala Police launched the project with the help of NORKA Roots, an agency under the Kerala government assisting Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs) and Protectors of Emigrants (Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

NRIs can use the services to file a complaint regarding fake recruitments, VISA fraud and other crimes through a helpline number 0471-2721547 or e-mail -- spnri.pol@kerala.gov.in, dyspnri.pol@kerala.gov.in.

Currently, strict action has been taken over human trafficking incidents in airports and waterways. Further, the Cyber Cell is also providing assistance to nab those behind fake recruitment incidents. Norka Roots informed that anti-human trafficking units were started in each district under the supervision of a nodal officer.
