Thiruvananthapuram: Former Chief Minister and Congress leader Oommen Chandy made his 77th birthday a low-key affair while marking 50 long years in Kerala assembly. Many people including his followers and well-wishers visited him at his residence ‘Puthupally’ here to extend birthday greetings on Saturday.
He thanked everyone and treated them with birthday special sweets. Though his family did not hold a cake cutting ceremony, some of his natives from Puthupally visited him with a birthday cake.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mollywood superstar Mohanlal also greeted the veteran politician.
“May God bless Oommen Chandy with a long and healthy life,” tweeted Modi.
