Oommen Chandy is not UDF's Chief Minister candidate, says Tariq Anwar

New Delhi: AICC General Secretary in-charge of Kerala Tariq Anwar stated that Oommen Chandy is not the Chief Minister candidate of UDF in the state. No one will be given seat on the basis of group politics. He also said that the party will think of a new KPCC chief if Mullappally Ramachandran contests in the Assembly election. He also told Mathrubhumi News that he does not think that KV Thomas will leave the party.

The AICC General Secretary also dismissed speculation that Oommen Chandy will be the Chief Minister candidate of UDF.

“The Chief Minister will be decided only after consultation with the MLAs after the election. The candidates will only be decided on the basis of possibility of winning” Tariq Anwar stated.

He also added that KV Thomas is one of the most trusted leaders of the party and asked how he could leave Congress.
