Only tip of iceberg came out, says Kodiyeri on gold smuggling case against Muslim League leader

Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that customs questioning AA Ibrahimkutty, the vice-chairman of the Thrikkakara Municipality and leader of the Muslim League, for a gold smuggling case is just the tip of the iceberg, and there is more to come out.

"Muslim League is functioning under the support of Congress, which also sides with communal forces like SDPI. This attitude is only going to give an advantage for RSS in the state," he said.

Customs is questioning Ibrahimkutty in connection with smuggling gold via the airport by hiding them inside a meat slicing machine. He was questioned after it came to light that his son Shabin has links to the gold smuggling incident.

Ibrahimkutty appeared before the customs office in Kochi on Wednesday for questioning. However, he alleged that the case was politically motivated. He said that these developments came in the wake of the upcoming election in Thrikkakara. He also dismissed his son's role in the case.
