Thiruvananthapuram: KSRTC will conduct only 25 per cent of its ordinary services on Saturday and no ordinary services will be scheduled on Sunday in the state. The services were cut down due to shortage of diesel, which was caused when the corporation dispensed the salary dues of June with the revenue reserved for meeting fuel expenses.

KSRTC has decided to conduct services till Monday with the available fuel, as the oil companies informed that the diesel will be issued only after settling the current dues worth Rs 13 crore.

The corporation cancelled bus services on Saturday and Sunday for organising more long-route services on Monday, which is a working day. It has been instructed to cancel the services which record low revenue.

The bus services to rural areas were already called off. Last date to dispense salaries for the month of July was on July 5. But, there was a shortage of Rs 85 crore for this.
