Online sex racket case: Main accused Joshi surrenders

Joshi alias Achayan, the main accused in the online sex racket case, has surrendered before the investigating officer.

Kochi: Joshi alias Achayan, the main accused in the online sex racket case, has surrendered before the investigating officer.

His surrender comes in the wake of crime branch intensifying the search for him after catching others accused in the case.

The police got the information regarding the role played by Joshi from the statement given by Akbar, a native of Kasargod, who was arrested in the case earlier. 

The police came to know that it was Joshi who brought minor girls from Bangalore. 

Joshi is accused in several cases including Paravur sex racket case. Investigating officers are questioning Joshi thoroughly in the hope of obtaining crucial information about the online sex racket. 

At the same time, Police has received information that it was a man called Linto , who had rammed his car into police while they were about to capture the sex racket gang. The Nedumbassery police have registered an  attempt-to-murder case against Linto.

Linto, who arrived with the girls on Tuesday night, rammed his car on the police to escape from the elaborate net the police  had arranged. Crime branch SI KJ Chacko was injured in the incident.

The online sex racket were caught by the police in the operation titled "Operation Big Daddy" which was launched on the night of November 16th. Several people including Kiss of love leaders Rahul Pashupalan and his wife were arrested in the raids conducted in Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts.
