Thiruvananthapuram: An online grievance redressal system has been established in Kerala to address the woes of entrepreneurs. The system will ensure that the issue is resolved within 30 days. It is the first of its kind in the country, according to the government. Industries minister P Rajeev inaugurated the portal on Thursday.
District and state-level committees under the industry department will address the complaints. The district committee chaired by the collector will consider the concerns of establishments worth up to Rs 10 crore. Companies with higher investments as well as appeals against district committee decisions will be brought before the state committee. The department's principal secretary will chair the committee at the state level.
Committees can recommend action against officials if necessary. The official who fails to act on the remedy suggested by the committee has to pay a fine of Rs 250 per day after 15 days of inaction.
