Online financial fraud: Mullappally files complaint with CM, DGP
Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran has filed a complaint against unidentified online fraudsters who misuesed his name to swindle money from people online. It is reported that the fraudsters created a fake email ID in the name of Mullappally and demanded money from people.
After noticing the crime, Mullappally filed a complaint with Chief Minister and DGP.
On Sunday, the KPCC president took to his Facebook page and revealed that he has noticed some people are collecting donation by misusing his name.
Some of his colleagues brought this matter to his attention.
Mullappally appealed to the public not to fall prey to such online fraud.
In his complaint to the CM and DGP, he requested to immediately bring the fraudsters before the law.
Earlier, similar online financial fraud in the name of senior police officials and IAS officers was reported in the state. Such online fraudsters swindled money from people after creating fake Facebook accounts of the officials.
Recently, police registered a case over the incident in which some fraudsters made a fake Facebook account in the name of ADGP Vijay Sakhare to swindle money.
